Support & Learning. Posted 10 September 2017, 12:22 pm EST I bough't and downloaded component one studio enterprise today form site (ver 2008). I had previous version (not licensed) installed on my computer. Now, i uninstalled previos version and installed new fresh one. During installation it didn't ask me for seral number. When installation process finished, i opened new project and try to create form with ribbon component. New window pop up and ask me to Purchase, Activate or Register.
I clicked on Activate and filled form with serial number, pressed OK button but nothing happend. (Nag screen appears every time i build application.) I just can't activate it. What should I do! I registered product on componentone web site.
Replied 10 September 2017, 12:22 pm EST Hi, There are 2 possible problems that could cause this. Both are easy to solve.
You might actually have a license on your machine from your previous installation. If so, you will need to remove that license (see this article for help: ) and then re-activate your controls. If you don't have an old license on your machine, you will need to get the c1licensing.exe file and put it in your bin directory. You can get the file here: and place it in this directory: C:Program FilesComponentOne Studio.NET 2.0bin If neither of these work, please contact our support team for further assistance. Replied 10 September 2017, 12:22 pm EST I am not sure if people are describing what I am going through but it is all very similar.
I started this job a few months ago. My machine was built from scratch and every thing was installed new. I can use the C1 controls on my machine through the VS2008 desktop IDE but when I Publish my web site to a server I get the nag screen for the menu control but not the grid. I have the C1Licensing.exe file in my bin dir.
I have also added the serial number through the IDE but I can't make it happy on the production server. In my Toolbox I can see controls for drag-and-drop like C1WebGrid and C1WebMaskEdit but NOT the menu. Is this a clue? It doesn't show on other machines here but I think I am the only one using the C1 menu. I also tried uninstalling then reinstalling but no help (article ID 1906). I have version 2.0.20071.150 of C1.Web.Command.2.dll if that helps. I just updated to version 2.0.20073.170 - no help.
License no worky. Added licenses.licx file. The entry into the licenses.licx is almost identical to the directive at the top of the.aspx file. Why is it ignored in the.aspx file? Why even have it there? Is the inside of a dog's mouth cleaner than a humans? Replied 10 September 2017, 12:22 pm EST Hi Sinisa, I sent you an email through the forums.
If you don't get it, please email me directly - my contact info is below. There is not one solution to this issue but the most common problems are -not having the C1Licensing.exe file in your Bin directory (if that is the case, you can download it here: -not having the updated license installed on your machine (if that is the case, create a new project and drop a new control on the form. If you get an activation error or licensing error, enter your new license key) -problem with your serial number. If this is the case i will need to know your serial number to fix the issue. John Franco. Replied 10 September 2017, 12:22 pm EST Hi, I am very sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble.
I am not sure why the components are not accepting your license number. I checked the serial # that we have in our database (renewed yesterday 5/7) and it appears valid. Please send me an email or submit a support incident so we can investigate further (We will need to know some more details about the problem - what component and version you're trying to license, where you see the error, etc. Replied 10 September 2017, 12:22 pm EST I have downloaded the file C1Licensing.exe (v2.0.20081.5) and placed correctly into the bin folder. I also have run the C1LiveUpdate utility beforehand to update the controls to their latest release versions, again in the bin directory - not installed in GAC. When I then create a dummy application to Activate product and put in my Activation Key on the Activate Product popup, I get the error; 'An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)' Debug Details; 'See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Replied 10 September 2017, 12:22 pm EST Is there a problem between developing on 64-bit and deploying onto 32-bit system? I get the '.Evaluation version. ' message on the website when I build a website on Vista 64 bit with VS 2008 and deploy on Windows Server 2003 32 bit.
The message doesn't come up when I deploy the same website built with VS2005. In VS2008 I created the licenses.licx file manually and used Build Runtime Licesnses option to build AppLicenses.dll. Still that doesn't resolve the issue on the server. Replied 10 September 2017, 12:22 pm EST Hi I have a newly installed Windows Vista 64 bit machine with VS2008, I installed the 2008 v2 controls using my serial with no problems, or that's what I thought. When I try and run the Live update, I am told that I can only download them as Evaluation versions, and in my projects all I see is the eval nag messages.
I tried using the latest Licensing file and tried creating a new project and adding the controls from scratch, the only option I have in the About is to Deactivate my license wich as it tells me I am not seems a little odd. Can you help please I have lots of sites using these controls and no way to maintain them now. Forum Channels.
